Letter From the Director
August 2021
Dear Village School Families,
Welcome to the Village School community for the 2021-2022 school year. It is an exciting time for all of us, those families returning to the Village School as well as new families enrolled.
We all experienced an unusual year during the recent pandemic and the Village School community succeeded in working together to keep our children and families safe during this challenging time. This past year we put many protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of our children and staff; lots of hand washing and mandatory face masks indoors for all children and staff will remain in effect.
The Board of Trustees and our Health Care Consultants will continue to monitor the CDC recommendations along with the Department of Early Childhood and Care guidelines for pre-schools. This information will be available on our parent portal and will be updated as needed.
The Village School Staff and Board wish to make the transition to a new school year as smooth as possible and hope you will join us in that effort. We have found that communication is of the utmost importance, and it is our primary goal throughout the school. Please feel comfortable asking questions; I will be available at drop-off times and always by email. Our entire staff is extremely well versed in transition issues and all that goes with children and families beginning a pre-school experience.
The Board of Trustees, who oversees the school, consists of current parents who are regularly in touch with me and and are a great resource for all families and work tirelessly to build a wonderful sense of community for our school. We will make certain they are available to all of you.
In late August, you will receive information for the Visiting Day on either Thursday, September 9th or Friday, September 10th, and a letter from your child’s teachers. Please email or call the office with any questions you may have before the Visiting Day.
Each family will be asked to fill out an enrollment packet with information for your child’s file. This must be completed by September 13. We also will need a copy of your child’s most recent physical and immunizations to have on file as required by the Department of Early Education and Care.
The enrollment packet will be available to complete online if you wish to do so. We will send you the link for our parent portal. It will also be available in paper form from our office.
Sincerely,
Laurie Coughlin
