2018-2019

Parent Teacher Conferences: Look for sign up sheets by your child’s classroom door for up-coming conferences.

Saturday, October 27th: The Village School Halloween Parade.

Lunch Bunch + Extended Day: Look for sign-up sheets above the lobby cubbies. Popularity this year is already unprecedented, and a waitlist may be utilized as we do our best to accommodate interest and add staffing.  Billing is monthly, however you may pay in advance for convenience: $450 per lunch bunch day for year, $1200 per extended day for year.

Enrollment packets: Parents of returning students may sign off on previous enrollment packets. Classroom 1 and 2 files will be in the office, and Classroom 3 files will be in the library on Monday morning (health forms and immunization records will need to be updated). Enrollment packets for all students are due ASAP.

Reminder: Please leave a change clothes in your child’s cubby, in a ziplock bag labeled with his/her name. Please include seasonally appropriate items (underwear, socks, pants, long sleeve shirt, etc).

Traffic Safety: Please exercise caution and vigilance at drop-off and pick-up times. Take care to enter and exit children from cars on the sidewalks and walkways. We continue to work with the town and DPW on traffic calming measures around the Village School, and appreciate your attention to this very important matter.

Volunteer with COMMUNITY COOKS: The Village School is continuing in partnership with Community Cooks in what proved to be a rewarding opportunity for VS families last year. By becoming a Community Cooks team, the Village School community will again partner with Tutoring Plus, a Cambridge based organization that provides after-school support to children in grades 4-12, to supply snack packets to children enrolled in the program. An overwhelming majority of these children face food scarcity at home and cannot depend upon a reliable, well-balanced meal from lunchtime at school until school breakfast the following day. Snack packs are comprised of a sandwich, pretzels or the like, fruit, cut vegetables and dip, and a dessert. Starting soon and occurring once a month thereafter, six participating families will contribute one component of the snack pack. The children at VS will then be involved by decorating lunch bags and packing the bags. Families may participate as frequently as once a month to as little as one time over the course of the school year, depending on interest levels. If you would like to learn more about this opportunity or have questions, please contact Ellie Fisher at ellenwfisher@hotmail.comPlease see the sign-up sheet on the easel in the lobby for more information about this wonderful organization and opportunity for the Village School community.

Our whole family has become a part of the Village School. With annual events like the Halloween Parade and the Auction, there are so many ways to be involved and for kids and grown-ups to have fun.”
